On with the show ABC launches Oscar.

Good news that this writers strike may be settled soon. ABC has already launched promos hyping the Oscar cast to take place on Sunday, Feb. 24. Billboards. Newspaper ads. TV and Web ballyhoo. You can catch a few examples of the latter at the Oscars TV website, Oscars.com. The two spots already produced are chock full of celebrities, with snippets of some of the more memorable speeches of yore.
The first focuses on the spectacle that is the Oscars, with shots of exuberant winners like Roberto Benigni and Halle Berry intermixed with lots of star-studded standing ovations. The other ad centers on the two words heard most often on the Oscar cast -– no, not the bleeped ones uttered by the losers but "thank you." Among the more emotional recipients are Charlize Theron and Reese Witherspoon ( Nicole Kidman almost manages to unfreeze long enough to shed a tear), while Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are among the more enthusiastic. So than more close 24 Feb-That it will be more interesting.
